Blue Pottery, a glazed pottery range, is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur, though it is of Turko-Persian in origin. This Persian art of blue pottery came to Persia and Afghanistan via the Mughal courts. The common motifs are inspired by the Mughal era. The name ‘blue pottery‘ comes from the eye-catching blue dye used to color the pottery. The intricate multi-step process for a typical pot takes up to a month to make.
The patterns and motifs on the pottery are designed in-house in addition to the traditional designs and then made by the expert artisans of the villages of Jaipur.
